A TOXIC gas leak sparked a rapid response from Southampton firefighters.
Crews from Redbridge Fire station rushed to a property in Atherfield Road today, to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm sounding.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 3.45pm.
On arrival, the crew discovered the gas, which is toxic to humans, leaking from a faulty gas oven.
The gas board also attended and ensured the property was safe to re-enter.
Firefighters subsequently left the scene at just after 5pm.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said there were no details reported about evacuations or injuries.
