A DRIVER who turned into the path of an ambulance as it responded to a 999 call has been fined.
Jeffrey Cole crossed paths with the ambulance car while driving on Thornhill Park Road in February.
But as the emergency vehicle approached, with flashing blue lights and sirens, the 50-year-old turned his Vauxhall Zafira right across its path.
Cole denied a charge of driving without due care and attention.
But he was found guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court last week.
Cole was fined £60, ordered to pay £300 in court costs and given three points on his licence.
He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £30.
