SHE is only 12 years old but already this talented Southampton youngster writes and sings her own songs.

Amy Hooper is the latest rising starlet to join the growing number of performers entering the Daily Echo's Hampshire Top Talent search.

The Oaklands Community School pupil has been writing songs since the age of seven and writes anything from love songs to tunes about Primark.

Amy, who wants to be a singer when she's older, has won numerous singing competitions at her school and at a holiday park in Great Yarmouth.

Amy, of Olive Road, Coxford, said: "When I'm older I want to be a singer who sings slow, romantic songs. I write my own songs and have so far written about six."

Amy performed My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion from the film Titanic for the Daily Echo's Hampshire Top Talent contest.
