A TWO-vehicle crash saw emergency services rush to the M3 this morning.

Firefighters attended at the scene on the M3 northbound between junction 9 and 10 at around 10.40am.

Crews from Winchester, Eastleigh and Hampshire Fire and Rescue headquarters were called to deal with the incident.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Crews on the scene attended the RTC involving two vehicles in the hard shoulder.

"One casualty was extricated from the vehicle and handed over to South Central Ambulance Service.

"We received a stop call at 11.38am."

A South Central Ambulance spokesman said: "We sent a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene.

"One patient had sustained minor injuries and after initial treatment at the scene was taken to University Hospital Southampton."
