Police have confirmed that the body found in a car park on the A3057 is of a woman from Romsey.

Officers have said that the death into the 52-year-old woman wasn't being treated as suspicious.

As previously reported, police cordoned off the Test Way car park near Kimbridge on Wednesday morning after they were called to the concern for welfare of a person in a car.

When they arrived, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner's office in Winchester confirmed that they were investigating the circumstances around the death and they would then decide whether an inquest was needed.

Hampshire Constabulary said: "Next of kin have been informed, and we can confirm that the body of a 52-year-old Romsey woman was discovered, however formal ID proceedings are ongoing.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
