A MAN arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a city centre park has been released by police.
Officers say the 28-year-old man remains under investigation.
He was arrested yesterday as part of a police probe into a rape at Hoglands Park, Southampton.
The incident involved a 26-year-old woman, who was approached by a man as she walked through the park between 6.45pm and 7pm on Monday, March 5.
The man then allegedly raped the woman near to the park's skate ramp.
Following the incident, police launched an investigation and cordoned off the park while detectives swept the area looking for evidence.
Police are continuing to appeal to people with information to come forward, as well as anyone who was in Hoglands Park at the time of the incident.
