THIEVES targeted a Southampton convenience store in a late-night right.
The break-in at the Tesco Express on Coxford Road at around 5am on Tuesday saw thieves make away with stock
Managers say no one was injured in the incident which happened just before the shop was due to open at 6am.
Manager Tomina Petrova said she wasn’t yet sure exactly how much stock had been taken.
Thieves smashed glass to get in. She said: “The bollards are in tact so they didn’t use a car to get in. We will probably open later today.
“There is damage inside the store.
“Everybody is fine and no one was inside the store when it happened.”
The Tesco petrol station on Tebourba Way also suffered a break-in overnight.
A worker for GRWestbuild Building and Maintenance Contractors said the Coxford Road store is the third shop he’s been to in the last two days. He went to an attempted break in at Somerford in New Milton yesterday after the One Stop was targeted. He said today’s incident is likely to cost “thousands” to repair.
The incident comes just days after two ram-raids on shops in Southampton and Bishop's Waltham.
