A TEENAGER was assaulted and had his school bag stolen in a robbery near a Southampton pub.

Two men on BMX or racing bikes were approached two teenage boys outside the Station Pub, Bitterne, before grabbing both boys and attacking one.

The men stole a green Adidas bag containing school books, a bank card, and a small amount of loose change.

Police say the incident happened at about 9.20pm on Tuesday, April 17.

The first man is described as being white, about five feet six inches tall, of a small build, and had blonde hair.

He was wearing a dark tracksuit, had his face covered, and was riding a black and silver bike.

The second man is described as being white, five feet ten inches tall, looked about 18 years old, of a medium build, and had a square face and blonde hair.

He was wearing a navy blue tracksuit.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "A passing motorist assisted the victims and we would like that person to come forward to assist with our enquiries.
