IT’S one of the most talked about events of the summer.

Next weekend, Prince Harry will wed Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle, and a number of pets from Hampshire have given them their blessing.

Through a mixture of barks and meows from the furry friends, and a bit of editing, the unique track has been released by charity Blue Cross to celebrate the occasion.

With a number of animals involved in the track from the centre in West End, and recorded at a range of centres across the country, the pets have offered up “the gift of song”.

The charity say that the idea for the track came from “the love that future Meghan Markle has, not only for her own rescue pets but her love for all animals”.

Kirsty Smith, Blue Cross animal welfare supervisor in West End, said: “We know that Meghan Markle is a huge fan of rescue pets and the fantastic support she provides for animals is something we want to celebrate.

“To say congratulations to the royal couple on their wedding day, our homeless pets have given something special, they have given a gift of song with this rendition of Here Comes The Bride.

“Each pet seen and heard is desperately looking for their new family and we hope this loving wedding season will help them sing their way into loving new homes.”

The track and video includes a number of Blue Cross pets from the centre, including a beagle pup Harvey, Squirrel the Jack Russell Terrier and a Shetland pony named Tristan.

The animal noises were recorded by Blue Cross and remixed into the wedding march song.

According to Blue Cross, one in ten Brits have given their pets a central role in their own wedding ceremony, and 56 per cent want their pets to star in wedding photos and video.

The charity added: “This pawsome wedding gift is a celebration of all the ways pets enrich our lives, and looks to bring attention to the fact that while beagles may see a surge in popularity thanks to their new royal status, like all pets, they need the proper care and attention to live a happy and healthy life.”

Megan’s adopted beagle named Guy made the move to the UK when the royal pair decided to marry last year.
