ONCE again the problems of Brexit raise their heads.
This time the House of Lords – that rest home for geriatric nobility and unelected peers, retired failed politicians who get £300 pounds for just staying awake – have decided that the feudal system was better for us hoi polloi, so wrapped in their fake ermine they have decided the millions of us who want freedom from Europe shouldn't by any means have their way.
The last Labour government had the right idea when they inferred that they should be retired. After all, the hundreds of politicians of both major parties go through the motions of government only to find that the old fogies of the House of Lords have attempted to suppress them.
I think that as we didn't vote for them, why should they have this unelected power?
Perhaps if they were awake, especially to the wishes of the people, they should realise that we mean business.
The feudal era has gone, thank goodness. They should move with the modern generation and give their ridiculous fees to charity. I suggest to insomnia causes.
