EMERGENCY services have been working "through the night" at an incident involving 7,000 tonnes of scrap metal.

More than 50 firefighters from Redbridge, St Mary's, Hightown and Romsey and the service headquarters battled the blaze after scrap metal caught fire on a ship.

The ship is currently in the dry dock.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue have said that all persons on the ship have been accounted for.

The Coastguard and relevant environmental agencies have also been notified.
