HUNDREDS of runners pounded the streets of a Hampshire village – and were rewarded with a free pint of beer.
The annual Beer Race sees a maximum of 400 runners complete a five-mile route round Braishfield and enjoy a pint of beer from Romsey brewers Flack Manor.
Now in its 32nd year, the sell-out event was bathed in sunshine as stalls surrounded the route, which started at the Dummers Lane cricket field, looping round to the finish at the village hall.
Organiser Mark Stilemansaid: “It has been a fantastic year again.
"We were sold out with our 400 runners and there was some serious competition!
"Flack Manor has been brilliant yet again and it’s lovely to have that local Romsey beer supporting our event.
"Everyone was enjoying their beer afterwards and it made for a lovely atmosphere.”
