DRIVERS are set to face traffic chaos after a burst water main in Southampton.
Burgess Road eastbound was partially blocked after the junction with the Avenue yesterday morning, following a burst main near the University of Southampton's Boldrewood Campus.
A spokeswoman for Southern Water said repairs have been completed, but traffic management will remain in place.
She added: "Traffic management will remain in place on the crossroads between A35 Burgess Road and Bassett Avenue until the end of the week while we reinstate the road as safely as possible. Some of our customers may have noticed discolouration to their water this morning.
"This is completely normal when there’s been a disruption to the supply and is only temporary.
"We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank everyone for their patience while we’ve been carrying out this emergency work."
