A PLANE has crashed in a field near Winchester this afternoon.

The light aircraft came down in a field in Morestead just after 3pm.

Emergency services raced to the scene at 3.17pm, with firefighters from Winchester, Eastleigh, Redbridge and Bishop's Waltham all attending.

The plane came down in trees and bushes across farmland off Morestead Road.
