A 'SUBSTANTIAL' flood has forced the emergency closure of a Southampton school.
The incident has left structural and electrical damage at Foundry Lane Primary School in Shirley.
The school will be shut to years R, 1, 4, 5 and 6, and a planned sports day has also been cancelled.
A school statement says: "We are sorry to inform you that there will be an emergency partial school closure on Monday 16th July.
"Years 2 and 3 will be open as usual. However, if you have children in years 2 or 3 AND children in the year groups the school is closed to, attendance for all of your children will be at your discretion.
"We will update you further during the day tomorrow as to whether the school will be open on Tuesday.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused our school community."
