POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of attempted burglaries at petrol stations.

Hampshire constabulary are investigating whether three attempted burglaries to petrol stations and a shop.

Police believe the incidents took place in Fareham and Lee-on-the-Solent overnight between Thursday July 19 and the following morning.

A CCTV image of a man has been released of a man officers would like to speak to as part of their enquiries.

n Friday July 20 at 4.36am, police received a report that a panel had been smashed in the door of the Fairfield Avenue Co-op store in Fareham.

A man, with his face covered, and described as white, 5ft 8in tall, and wearing a grey hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms was seen acting suspiciously in the area.

At 6.16am, police received another report that someone had tried to force a door and smash a window at the BP petrol station on Broom Way, Lee-on-the-Solent.

Two men were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

One was wearing a grey hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms, and had his face covered.

The second man was wearing a dark hooded top with writing on the front, three-quarter length dark trousers, and dark shoes.

A final incident was reported, at 6.53am, of someone forcing the shutters at the Shell Garage on Centre Way in Fareham.

Again two men were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

The first was wearing a grey hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms, and black trainers.

The second man was wearing black hooded top with a white motif on the front, dark three-quarter length trousers and dark boots.

Nothing was taken in any of the incidents.
