CONCEPT Building Services Ltd from Midhurst has been appointed as the fit-out contractors for Network, Southampton City Council’s innovative new co-working space located on the second floor of the Marlands Shopping Centre.

The collaborative working space for digital and knowledge-based businesses will offer open-plan areas, meeting rooms, maker space and a photographic studio.

The city council says Concept has a proven track record of delivering high-end projects, including interior refurbishments.

The fit-out will cost over £1m and is due to be completed by the end of the year, with lift access being provided to the second floor site and new windows already fitted.

The council says potential occupiers have already expressed interest in the co-working space.

Leader of Southampton City Council, Councillor Christopher Hammond, said; “Network will help us to unlock the entrepreneurial talent of residents by providing a cutting edge environment for graduates, start-up businesses and existing organisations that are looking to scale-up.”

Simon Lee, project manager at Concept Building Services (Southern) Ltd, said: “It’s great to be working with a forward thinking local authority and a creative design team.”
