TALENT from across the city queued up at a top Southampton venue for a chance to be on TV.

Performers of all ages showcased their skills in front of the cameras in auditions for the 13th series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Young Harry Tasker and Abi Privett are dance partners from Totton’s Tom and Rachel Evans dance school and were there wowing producers with their routine.

But the teenagers are already old hands at being on stage – they are the current world champions in under 16 boy and girl freestyle.

Specialists in disco, contemporary and rock and roll the pair performed a stunning routine with the hope of making it through to the next round of the show.

Harry, 14, said: “I’ve been dancing for about seven years. When you are a boy you can get bullied for dancing. We wanted to show people that boys can dance too.”

Also up in front of the cameras was Trevor Webb performing Achy Breaky Heart with his guitar. The singer can often be found on the mic with at the Gardener’s Arms and busking around Southampton.

Performance student at Richard Taunton’s Sixth Form College Erin Brewer gave a heartfelt rendition of Creep by Radiohead and said she was “shaking” when she came out of the audition – but the 18 year old from Shirley had her pal Tori Moxton there for moral support.
