FAREHAM council wants residents’ view on their vision for a 40-year-old entertainment venue.

After many years of service, Ferneham Hall is to be modernised.

Static exhibitions and a series of pop-up events will take place across the borough so residents can find out more about the intended revamp, ask questions, and share their views on the plans.

Residents can also have their say by taking part in an online survey at www.fareham.gov.uk/fhvision.

Executive member for leisure and community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “We are already speaking to regular hirers of Ferneham Hall and are getting positive feedback.

“Now we want to hear the views of the wider entertainment industry and our residents to make sure the new venue will we meet their needs.”

The new facility would feature two auditoria, community rooms, a dance studio and would operate as a busy community arts and entertainment centre which includes daytime and evening activity, seven days a week.

Fareham council has said iot wants to undertake the project as it seeks to provide a busy community arts and entertainment centre.

If the revamp is accepted, tthe venue will be temporarily closed between January 2020 and August 2021, and alternative venues for any events will be used in the meantime.

The exhibitions will be held at:

l Locks Heath Shopping Village, Locks Heath, Wednesday 22 August 2018 12-2pm.

l Ferneham Hall, Fareham, Tuesday 4 September 2018 4-7pm.

l Fareham Shopping Centre, Fareham, Tuesday 18 September 2018 12-2pm.

l Portchester Village Centre, Portchester, Wednesday 19 September 2018 9am-12pm.
