EMERGENCY waterworks started on a busy Southampton road this morning bringing lane closures to the city route.
Western Esplanade (westbound) in Southampton City Centre will be reduced to one lane until 24 August, while a leak is repaired located outside the former Toys R Us site.

The measures will be in place for a full three days and the closure will start at the bottom of Civic Centre Hill.
There will also be a lane unavailable from outside the coach station towards the junction at the bottom of the hill.
Southampton City Council have said the work is being carried out by Southern Water.
