A WOMAN died of internal bleeding after falling while in hospital, an inquest heard.
Dorothy Spurrier, 86, of Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh, was a patient at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester when the fall took place.
Winchester Coroner's Court heard that at 2.45am on April 4, Mrs Spurrier got out of her bed before suffering the fall.
She sustained a head injury and suffered internal bleeding as a result.
The inquest heard that Ms Spurrier died in hospital nearly two weeks later, on April 17.
Senior coroner Grahame Short recorded a conclusion of accidental death.
