SINCE when has it been considered rude to correct someone's spelling or grammar?
On a social media page I recently pointed out that someone had used the word 'was' when they should have used 'were' and was told "We do not correct spelling or grammar as it is rude".
Is this some new modern thing that to correct someone's spelling and grammar is rude or has it always been a thing?
