THE Echo-sponsored Southampton Junior Tennis Tournament was a particularly special occasion for one talented youngster.
Catherine Roach won the under-14 singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles without dropping a set in a week of tennis.
After beating Katie Ashworth 6-1 6-0 in the singles final, she then paired up with her to beat Shona Payne and Gemma Saunders 6-0 6-1 in the doubles final.
Half an hour late, and she was on her way to her third trophy when she paired up with Paul Scott to beat Adam Goodman and Gemma Saunders in the mixed doubles 6-2 6-1
After bagging the first set, Daniel George was fading fast in the intense heat and only just managed to hold off the fast finishing Paul Gillnoon on the second 7-6, leaving many to wonder what would have happened if the match had gone to a third set.
His brother Darren beat number one seed Mark Keighley 6-4 7-5 in a high-calibre under-18 final.
Adam Goodman took the under-14 singles title and Lynne Skerrett won the under-16 singles - for the second year running.
