FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in Southampton City Centre last night.
The blaze broke out in a disused building in the High Street next door to the Standing Order pub.
The fire was in the floor of the building, formerly occupied by Walkabout and more recently Elements.
Fire service vehicles from St Mary's, Redbridge, Hightown and Eastleigh attended the incident.
An eyewitness, who didn't want to be named, said youngsters were seen on the roof of the building before the fire broke out.
He said: "I could see flames, they were quite high, and lots of smoke. It is a derelict building."
The road was closed while firefighters tackled the blaze.
