THE emergency services are dealing with a two-vehicle crash at the junction of the M27 and the M271 near Southampton.

The collision, involving a car and a truck, occurred on the southbound side of the M271 just after 1pm.

Hampshire police say there are no reports of serious injuries.

But crews from Redbridge and Eastleigh fire stations were called to the scene after one of the vehicles started smoking.

One driver said lane closures caused by the accident meant it was taking motorists about 20 minutes to get off the M27 at junction three.
