THE inquest into the death of a biker who was killed in a crash on a New Forest road is to take place next year.

Paul Matthews, 56, of Caledonia Drive in Dibden, was riding his Harley-Davidson when he was involved in a collision with a Mercedes Sprinter van on the A326 on September 8.

Despite being rushed to Southampton General Hospital, Mr Matthews was pronounced dead.

His family paid tribute to him as a "fantastic loving husband and brother".

The statement read: "We are truly devastated and numb having been given this news.

"Paul was a fantastic, loving husband and brother. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues."

Senior coroner Graham Short will hold the inquest into Mr Matthews' death on March 12, 2019.
