POLICE have issued a warning to residents in a Hampshire village after series of raids over three days.

Officers have told those living in Hamble that they are working to track down those behind the mini crimewave in the area.

The first attack took place on the evening of September 17 on Satchell lane where two vehicles were stolen. Both have since been recovered by police.

On September 19 three outbuildings at a property were also targeted. A bicycle and a motorcycle were stolen from two outbuildings in Sylvan Lane. The motorcycle has been recovered.

The other outbuilding was located on Satchell lane where four bicycles were taken.

A house burglary also took place on September 20 in Old Priory Lane. Handbags, laptops, vehicle keys and a BMW were stolen, with the car having since been recovered.

Now following the offences police have issued a warning to residents.

PC Robin Tebb from Hedge End South Neighbourhood Policing Team, told residents said: “It is a pertinent time to remind you all to look at the security of your home, garage, shed and vehicles.

“Simply remembering to close windows, lock doors and routinely check your property will reduce the opportunity the criminal is looking for. Look after your own home and property first, then extend that awareness to your close neighbours.

“Should you see anything suspicious or something that worries you, then do not hesitate to report it to the police.

“My colleagues and I will be patrolling our village as often as possible and I will also try to keep residents updated with crime news and how the investigations are proceeding.”
