IT has been the worst two weeks of their lives.

The parents of Hampshire schoolgirl Rosemary Edwards have spent every waking hour waiting for news of their daughter, who was last seen a fortnight ago today.

Rosemary, 15, was due to return to school the following day after the summer break.

When her father David, 52, went to make sure she was getting up, her room in the family home at Wellington Close, Dibden Purlieu, was empty.

He and his wife Jennifer, 47, and their other children, Robert, 17, and 19-year-old Lucy, have spent the past fortnight appealing for help in tracing her.

Last night, a police spokesman said detectives were still pursuing several lines of inquiry after receiving more than 50 possible sightings of Rosemary.

He added: "We still need that one call that could provide us with the vital breakthrough."

Since Rosemary went missing on the night of September 4-5, police have traced all her known friends, examined her computer and mobile phone records and searched several locations in the New Forest area, including Dibden Inclosure.

However, no trace of the teenager has been found.

Rosemary, a pupil at Noadswood School, Dibden Purlieu, went missing after lying to her parents about how she lost a part-time job.

Most of the sightings have been in and around the Forest but detectives have not ruled out the possibility that she could be elsewhere in the UK.

Her parents are hoping a hi-tech bid to find her could provide police with the breakthrough they need.
