A MUSIC legend who has sold millions of records as part of Coldplay returned to the Southampton school where it all
began.
Will Champion, drummer for the record-breaking British band, was back at Cantell to help the school celebrate 50 years of Latin being taught at the school.
Diana Sparkes, Will’s teacher when she taught Latin at Cantell, organised the event and invited ex-students and colleagues to join in the celebration.
It followed the successful Horizons Day event, where students were asked to think about how they will broaden their own horizons through extracurricular activities.
Harry Kutty, Cantell’s head, said: “The Latin and Horizons events provided the highlights, so far, of a busy academic year ahead and I would like to thank everyone who was involved.”
