A BOMB squad were rushed to a dredged-up ordnance near St Mary's Stadium.
The 'old' shell was pulled from the water near Southampton Football Club's stadium this morning.
The Royal Navy Bomb Disposal unit raced to the former Solent Aggregate building, on Marine Parade - opposite the football ground - at around 8.40am today.
Hampshire Constabulary said the scene was cleared by 11.46am.
Tarmac, who now occupy the former Solent Aggregate site, refused to comment.
