POLICE are urging families across Hampshire to review their domestic security after another spate of break-ins.

Several properties in Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford and nearby communities have been targeted by burglars in the past few days.

The thieves have made off with two motorcycles and an electric scooter after raiding sheds and garages.

It follows a similar but apparently unconnected crimewave in nearby Hamble.

As reported in the Daily Echo, two vehicles and four bicycles were stolen in separate burglaries in Satchell Lane, a bicycle and a motorcycle were taken from outbuildings in Sylvan Lane, and a BMW was among the items stolen from an address in Old Priory Lane.

Two of the recent break-ins in the Eastleigh area occurred on the night of September 30/October 1.

Burglars targeted a house at Nutbeem Road in Eastleigh, forcing a garage door and stealing an electric scooter.

On the same night a garage door at a property in Cornwall Road, Chandler’s Ford, was also forced. The thieves stole a motorbike but abandoned it in a nearby alleyway after it refused to start.

Three other crimes occurred in quick succession on the night of October 1-2.

Burglars broke into three of the garages at Ashley Gardens in Chandler’s Ford and stole two bicycles.

Intruders also targeted a bike shed in Victoria Road, Netley Abbey, and a garage at Fir Croft Drive in Chandler’s Ford, but nothing was stolen.

The latest break-in occurred on the night of October 2/3.Burglars broke into a barn at Upper Northam Road in Hedge End and stole a Honda motorcycle.
