SEASON of mists and mellow fruitfulness.

The romantic poet John Keats wrote the famous line after walking along the River Itchen to St Cross near Winchester nearly 200 years ago.

But Daily Echo Camera Club members have shown how it is apt too for the New Forest.

Club members have been out and about capturing those clear sunrises that sees mist forming in the valleys and dells before being burned away by the fast-rising sun.

For some, such as the pair of porkers at Penn Common, it was case of soaking up the last of the sunshine.

For other creatures, such as the kingfisher and its spectacular hunting success, the magnificent fallow deer and the basking seals, it was a question of carrying on much as normal.
