PUT the date in your diary as a popular beer festival is set to return to a Hampshire town. later this month.

Following the success of last year, the Beer and Cider Festival organised by the Round Table will return to Crosfield Hall in Romsey on October 26 and 27.

Residents will have the chance to choose from a selection of 25 beers and ciders from across Hampshire and Dorset as well as enjoying freshly baked pizza and Prosecco.

There will also be live music on both nights with the New Forest Yokels playing on Friday and the Bierfass Band on Saturday.

Last year organisers raised more than £2,000 for a host of good causes.

They have now said this year’s festival will be bigger and better and they are hoping to raise more money and support more charities and good causes in Romsey and Chandler’s Ford.

Organiser Euan Douglas, chief fundraiser for the Romsey, Chandler’s Ford and District Round Table, said: “Last year’s event surpassed all of our expectations, with a great time had by all on the night and lots of money raised.

“We are working hard to make this year’s festival even better, but it is all only worthwhile if people buy their tickets and come along.”

The entry price includes a commemorative pint glass that residents will receive on arrival, and six beer tokens.

Further tokens will be available on the night.
