TEACHERS, parents, volunteers and children at Orchard Lea Junior School in Fareham picked up their trowels to give the school grounds a make-over last week.
The willing volunteers created different areas of the school grounds into interactive sensory spaces where children can learn and play.
Wind Chimes, painted stones, planted boarders and much more were added to the outside space.
Mrs Wildern who teaches year 3 pupils at the school organised the day’s activities alongside the help of Deputy Headteacher Mrs Thornbury.
Head Teacher, Steve Summerton commented; “The children really got into the spirit of the project and were really enthusiastic as things started to take shape.
" There were areas of the grounds which had become overgrown and out of bounds, but now they are a communal garden area where children can play and learn together.
Mrs Wildern added; “We are so grateful to the parents and volunteers who have supported the project and delighted at how well the children reacted to getting involved. They really loved it and showed a great deal of pride at the end results."
