AWARD-winning comedian Jimmy Carr took to the stage last night for the laughter-filled finale of Comedy Central Live.
Thousands flocked to the main stage at the Hoglands Park-based festival last night to watch the dark-humoured stand-up star perform some of his favourite jokes from his tours, old and new.
The British comedian rattled off joke-after-joke in quickfire fashion, taking in each bout of laughter momentarily, before moving swiftly on to the next gag.
He took short breaks to interact with crowd members, including the unlucky electrician, ‘Lewis’, who bore the brunt of his onslaught, and barmaid ‘Sapphire’, who also caught the tail-end of the comic’s quick wit.
Carr later moved into his more dark and edgy material, before finishing with a series of texts from audience members, who he had invited to contact him before the show.
His performance ended day three of the festival, which featured performances from Britain’s Got Talent winner, Lost Voice Guy, as well as Chris Ramsey and Lee Nelson.
Day three also saw a change in ticketing after yesterday’s box office blunder – which saw thousands queue up for main stage tickets in the cold and windy weather, only for some to be turned away.
Organisers yesterday released a statement on the issue, in which they reaffirmed the company had made it clear on purchase that the £20 tickets did not guarantee entry to the main stage acts.
Comedy Central bosses did however appologise that festival-goers had been left queueing in 'inclement weather conditions'.
On Sunday, attendees were instead asked to queue outside the main stage, in Sunday’s much improved weather conditions, and all made it into the shows – albeit some standing throughout Jimmy Carr’s headline performance.

On Saturday, ever-popular comedian Russell Howard finished his show to a huge roar from a packed-out main stage crowd as he ended another laughter-filled day at Comedy Central Live.
The Bristol-born comedian was given a massive clap off stage by an audience of more than 4,000 people, who crowded into the festival’s big-top tent for day two’s headline show.
The performance followed a day of jokes and laughter from some of stand-up’s top names, including ex-I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now! host Rob Beckett and American comedian Rob Delaney.
On Friday night, Canadian comic Katherine Ryan took to the stage for her headline performance, accompanied by London-born stand-up star Russell Kane, American comedian Reginald D Hunter and up-and-coming Manchester funny-man Stephen Bailey.
Other events throughout the weekend included Drunk History live – where comedians get drunk (really drunk), before attempting to recount famous moments from history.
Comedians also went head-to-head in a ‘Roast Battle’, taking it in turns to insult each other for enjoyment of the audience.
A large Takeshi’s Castle style inflatable course was also open for festival-goers to take on throughout the weekend.
