RESIDENTS can now get a preview of a new £35m retirement village in Fareham.

Titchfield Friary Meadow is inviting members of the public to view two of their newly opened apartments ahead of the official opening on January 10.

The retirement village will compromise of 86 homes including apartments, bungalows and townhouses.

Based on the ‘extra-care’ living model, as recommended by the Department of Health, the village aims at giving older people the opportunity to retain their independence for longer, including their financial independence, by enabling them to own their own properties, thereby protecting their equity.

Dr. Stephen Ladyman, founder of Oak Retirement and a former Minister of Health responsible for Social Care, said: “It’s a very exciting time at Friary Meadow with completion now on the horizon and so, with construction almost finished, I’m extending a warm invitation out to anyone who would like to view the properties we now have available.

“A visit to Friary Meadow will give people the chance to see first-hand how the village will offer many benefits to ensure an independent, worry-free retirement.”

The development is a joint project between independent retirement living specialist, Oak Retirement, and real estate fund manager, Frogmore and construction for the project began in June last year.
