FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Hampshire care home today after a blaze broke out in a lift shaft.
Crews from Eastleigh and St Mary's fire stations rushed to the Orchard Gardens care home in Garnier Drive, Eastleigh.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said there were no reports of any injuries.
Crews were called at 11.05am and the fire was out by 11.40am.
A spokeswoman for the home said: "I can confirm there was a fire and there were no injuries or issues with residents or staff.
"We are working with the fire brigade to investigate the cause of the incident. The safety of our residents and staff is paramount.”
