TOP actress Elizabeth Hurley starred in popular movies and TV series such as Gossip Girl and has been a model for prestigious brands.

Now she has spent a day in Hampshire to recognise the work done in support of women suffering from breast cancer.

The actress, who also performed in films such as Austin Powers, has visited the Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex in Titchfield to celebrate its third anniversary.

She visited the centre to meet staff and visitors and learn more about the work that the charity does to support women across the county.

Hurley, who is also a global ambassador for Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “Every 19 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Going through breast cancer treatment can be a very challenging time for patients and their families and it is fantastic to see first-hand the incredible work that Breast Cancer Haven Wessex is doing to support those impacted by the disease.”

The charity provides completely free emotional, physical and practical support to women who are fighting cancer.

After opening centres in London, Hereford, Yorkshire, and West Midlands, the charity opened its offices in Titchfield in October 2015.

Hurley visited the centre along with Philippe Warnery, senior vice president and general manager for the Estée Lauder Companies in UK and Ireland.

The beauty firm has given its support to the Titchfield centre through a range of fundraising activities.

Mr Warnery said: “As a company, we are deeply committed to the breast cancer movement. In the UK alone, nearly £11 million has been raised to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation but there is still work to be done, which is why it’s so important that charities like the Breast Cancer Haven are providing much-needed support to those touched by breast cancer.”

The Breast Cancer Campaign is the Estée Lauder Companies’ largest corporate philanthropic initiative and is active in more than 70 countries.

Pamela Healy OBE, CEO at Breast Cancer Haven, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex. She has tirelessly devoted many years supporting Estee Lauder Companies’ brilliant Breast Cancer Campaign which has contributed so much to the fight against the disease. The iconic pink ribbon, created by the late Evelyn H Lauder, is now recognised as being the emblem for the breast cancer movement and I so am proud that it is key feature of our brand identity.”
