SURELY we all concur with Richard A.Jacob (Echo 13/10/18) regarding mindless vandalism.
CCTV certainly inspires confidence against the possibility of physical attack, but the scant possibility of police trawling video footage for desecrators of property ensures the unlikelihood of vandals ever facing justice.
They always have something more important to do.
How many readers caught the astonishing snippet of news last week that nearly 10,000 bobbies were involved with Donald Trump’s recent visit (mostly by helicopter) at a cost of £18 million?
Richard has the consolation, that some at least, of these numbskulls will eventually grow up to become responsible taxpayers and be forced to contribute to reinstate damaged property themselves.
By which time, of course, they will have passed the baton on to the next generation.
