BRITAIN'S original TV doctor, Dr Miriam Stoppard, has paid a visit to a Southampton store to host a special Q&A session to support Back Pain Awareness Week.

Giving crucial advice to visitors at Adjustamatic’s store on Winchester Road, Shirley, the best-selling author and presenter shared her extensive knowledge on the many benefits that sleeping in a contoured bed can bring to help ease back pain. Visitors also had the chance to ask questions afterwards.

A leading authority on health issues, Dr Stoppard acts as the brand’s health and mobility advisor – a partnership that has underlined Adjustamatic’s credentials as a manufacturer of high-quality products which improves comfort, health and wellbeing.

One couple, Tony Thompson and his partner Joan Pinckney, drove from Horndean in Portsmouth to meet Dr Miriam. Joan said: “It was an absolute delight to meet a personal hero, who was knowledgeable and charming. Tony tried the reclining chair and immediately saw the benefits and ended up buying one. Our visit turned out to be very purposeful.”

Dr Stoppard said: “I was thrilled to visit the store today and enjoyed meeting local people while advising on the important questions surrounding back care and sleep. Buying a bed shouldn’t be underestimated and choosing the wrong bed can cause a lifetime of health disadvantages, including back issues. Your bed should be viewed as an investment and something that should last you several years. Bearing in mind the amount you sleep, you’ll want to ensure you get it right.”

Store manager Peter Hammerton said of the event: “Having Dr Stoppard at the store was brilliant and created a lot of interest. Her knowledge was extremely insightful, and we look forward to welcoming her again in the future.”

All Adjustamatic products include built-in Cyclo-Therapy massage technology. This is designed to improve blood circulation, provide relief from various health conditions and promote relaxation.
