THREE dance instructors are bringing Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell’s dance creation to Ringwood.

The dancing trio will be holding demonstrations and encouraging members of the public to come and have a go at Diverse Dance Mix (DDMIX), an aerobic workout created by the former ballerina and Strictly judge Darcey Bussell and choreographer Nathan Clarke, with the vast number of dance styles from around the world and from different areas.

DDMIX aims to get people moving in a fun way, while also stimulating the brain, clearing the mind and getting the heart pumping.

Local dance and DDMIX instructor Natalie Kirk said: “The dance is a really fun way to get people moving and on their feet. It is perfect for all dance abilities and ages. There are currently around 35 different dance styles in the programme.

“It’s important that dance fitness has variety; dance keeps your brain engaged and works your mind alongside exercise. The aim of DDMIX is to get people moving without being intimidated by the word 'dance' or the technicality of the steps, but instead to give a full body workout that is so much fun that you don't even notice that you are exercising."

DDMIX also has a school programme (DDMIX for Schools www.ddmixforschools.com) that has been created to meet the National Curriculum PE guidelines.

Joining Natalie will be Karina Thomas and Natasha Lester. They said “We are really looking forward to the event and we will be demonstrating some of the genres including the Charleston, Irish, Tango and many more.”

The event will be taking place on Saturday, October 20 between 1 and 4pm at Furlong Shopping Centre in Ringwood.
