POLICE have cordoned-off part of a Southampton park while they carry out a search of a wooded area.
Several police cars have parked up near to the scene at Mayfield Park, which straddles Woolston and Weston.
Officers are searching a wooded area.
Hampshire police say the search is in relation to a stabbing in Barnfield Close, Weston, earlier this week.
The incident took place on Monday, October 15.

Police say the man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We can confirm that police activity at Mayfield Park in Weston today (Friday 19 October) is being carried out as part of enquiries into an assault in Southampton.
"An investigation was launched after a man was stabbed on Monday 15 October at around 9pm on Barnfield Close.
"The man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
"Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in the local area."
