A FORMER Saints boss is heading out to Australia to take part in this year's 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here'.

Harry Redknapp, who managed the club between December 2004 and December 2005, will join the likes of The Chase star Anne Hegerty and Coronation Street actress Sair Khan in the jungle.

The annual TV show sees a host of celebrities take on a series of disgusting and absurd Bushtucker Trial challenges, including eating different parts of exotic animals and submerging their hands into boxes full of creepy crawlies.

The stars all camp in the jungle and try and win points in order to get food and luxury items. Every night the show runs, the public vote for who they want to take on the trial.

Redknapp, 71, famously left Portsmouth Football Club before taking the reins at Saints.

The FA Cup winner was then relegated with Saints during the 04/05 season, leaving the club shortly after to take over at Pompey again.

'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' has been running since 2002 and has never been far from controversy.

Last year, viewers regularly complained that broadcaster Iain Lee was the subject of bullying and isolation from other camp-mates, such as footballer's wife Rebekah Vardy.

In 2016, ex-Southampton Football Club player Wayne Bridge finished 5th in the series.

Redknapp told reporters that he might struggle in the jungle after admitting he finds it difficult without his wife Sandra.

He told a newspaper: "I wouldn’t cope. I’m useless. She treats me like a baby. She does everything. I can’t cook, I can’t make a coffee, I can’t do nothing."

This year's series will be hosted without Ant McPartlin for the first time, with Holly Willoughby joining Declan Donnelly presenting it.

It begins on Sunday, November 18.
