MEMBERS of the public have been helping police search for a 46-year-old woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks - and could be in Hampshire.

Sarah Wellgreen was last seen in the Bazes Shaw area of New Ash Green, Kent, during the evening of Tuesday, October 9.

Kent Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare as she has not been in contact with her family and her car was left at her home address.

She is believed to have links to Hampshire, including in Farnborough and Portsmouth.

A man aged in his 30s was arrested on October 16 in connection with her disappearance and was released on bail pending further enquiries until November 16.

During the weekend, a number of people local to Ms Wellgreen's home assisted police with searches in the area.

A force spokesman said: "Members of the local community approached Kent Police to ask if they could help with the search for Sarah Wellgreen.

"As a result this weekend a number of residents have assisted police in their search efforts."

Chief Inspector Tony Dyer added: "We are increasingly concerned for Sarah's welfare who was reported missing almost two weeks ago

"She has not been in contact with her family and her car was left at her home address. It is possible Sarah left home on foot or received a lift from somebody.

"My officers are conducting ongoing enquiries with residents and businesses which includes the examination of CCTV footage.

"The search continued in the area over the weekend and I am very grateful to members of the local community gave up their time to assist us.

"I would urge anybody with information that may help to contact us. If you think you may have seen her but are not sure, please do not hesitate to call the appeal line and let us know."
