A MAJOR Southampton road will be closed for at least three days as emergency gas works are carried out. Town Quay eastbound will be closed from October 24 from 9.30am between High Street and Orchard Place.
SGN will be repairing the gas escape on the street.
It comes just days after other emergency gas works brought traffic to a halt at the Totton bypass - while SSEN also carried out emergency works on Harbour Parade.
Major roadworks at the Millbrook roundabout have led to lorries getting stuck and traffic building up as far back as the M271 while Balfour Beatty work to prevent soil subsidence under the roundabout.
