A MAN was given a 20 week suspended prison sentence for using a walking stick as a weapon.
Darren Andrew Parish, 31, from Milton Road Southampton pleaded guilty to the attack, which took place on September 1 this year and also involved headbutting.
The sentence was suspended for 12 months - but Darren Parish was also told to undergo alcohol treatment and barred from entering an address in Honeysuckle Road, Southampton, for 12 months.
He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £300 compensation.
