A POPULAR pub in Hampshire is under new management.

The Chilworth Arms in Chilworth has recently welcomed Southampton resident James Miller as a new manager.

Mr Miller, 32, said he wants to focus on delivering good quality food.

"I want to offer customers a great experience. We want to offer high quality food and make sure we are consistent with that,"he said.

Mr Miller and his team have just launched a new menu, with the rack of lamb proving very popular.

He said fish and chips, pork belly and rib eye steak are the best sellers but the menu changes seasonally.

"Specials will be the way forward for me, trying to offer specials that change frequently so to keep everyone excited and offer a better variety,"Mr Miller said.

The pub also offers a vegan and vegetarian menu with aubergine burger being one of the best sellers while pizza and burgers are the children's favourite.

Youngsters are also treated to colouring books.

"We want to give families a place where they can relax and have great food and where kids can have fun," Mr Miller said.

He added: "Pubs are an important part of the community and we want to be part of this community as much as we can. That is what drives me as a manager, to ensure everyone has a great experience here and leaves with a smile on his face."

The pub also offers a wide selection of drinks including red, white and rose wine, real ales and lagers as well a Prosecco and champagne.

The popular watering hole is also dog friendly and features a garden which is one of the main attractions in summer.

Live music events are also run throughout the year.

"We have a very good connection with local bands and we want to support them,"Mr Miller said.

He added: "We are planning to run events to support local charities but we have not decided which one yet."
