A PEDESTRIAN has been rushed to hospital after a crash near a Southampton road bridge.
The man, in his 80s, was rushed to hospital after he was struck by a Volkswagen on the junction of Whitworth Crescent and Cobden Avenue.
His injuries after serious but not life-threatening.
Police closed-off Bitterne Park Triangle shortly after the collision, with Cobden Avenue closed in both directions at the junction of Whitworth Crescent.
Officers say Cobden Avenue has since reopened, but a closure is still in place on Whitworth Crescent.
