WINNING submissions from the Bargate Quarter’s photo competition have been installed on the hoarding surrounding the development site in the city centre.

The competition, titled “What Southampton Means to You”, was launched in April and asked the community to submit photos that they thought best represented Southampton.

A variety of entries were submitted, including photos of the city’s parks, to boats on the water and even Southampton FC.

The winners were announced in June on the Bargate Quarter’s social media pages and have been named as; Colin Lee, Lee Neale, Harry Emery, Pete Humphry, Stephen Clifft and Steve Miller.

The winning photos were chosen to be installed on the development’s hoarding, with the design incorporating the winning photo accompanied by a small quote from the photographer about what Southampton means to them.

James Burchell, from Tellon Capital, who are working on the development of the Bargate, said: “It was a really tough call trying to pick the winners for the photo contest; we were blown away by the talent of some of the entries.

“We think the winning photos really showcase what a vibrant city Southampton is and include many of the things that make it truly unique.

“The photos will be available for everyone to see until the Bargate Quarter is completed in 2021.”

The Bargate Quarter is a mixed-use development covering 400,000 sq. ft. near the city’s famous Bargate landmark.
