A LUCKY family has won a seven-night cruise around the Caribbean following a Daily Echo competition with Royal Caribbean.

The Donnarummas, from Southampton, had to submit a 30-second video on Instagram telling us why they should win the prize and what it would mean for them to experience a Royal Caribbean holiday.

Our panel of judges watched all the videos submitted by competition entrants to determine the top three to go forward to stage two of the competition.

Then the three families of finalists, including the Harmans from Bournemouth and the Croswells from Southampton, spent the day on Independence of the Seas during October half-term, experiencing all that cruise life has to offer, recording their day and showing us what they feel makes a cruise holiday special.

The judges selected the Donnarumma family as the overall prize winner from the three videos created onboard and they will set sail on Harmony of the Seas in February.

The seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise encompasses a round trip from Fort Lauderdale (Florida), visiting Philipsburg, St Maarten – San Juan, Puerto Rico – Labadee, and Haiti.

The Donnarummas will enjoy the very best of one of Royal Caribbean’s favourite ships. The fun-seeking family will be able to watch robots mix their cocktails at the incredible Bionic Bar, or delight their taste buds with an amazing choice of dining experiences.

Harmony of the Seas brings with it the tallest slide at sea – the Ultimate Abyss, which has a 10 storey drop, as well as the Perfect Storm – a trio of thrilling water slides.

After all the excitement the Donnarummas will end their day by snuggling up in a spacious ocean view room.
